Tearing off the final page of a calendar never felt better, but who knew that the coming year would worsen things more.
The crumpled page of December 2020 seemed to stare at us from the recycling bin as if to say,
"You won't forget me" of course we won't: we said, but we actually did 😖
The pandemic was still raging, and many of us were forced to shelter in our homes, but there was hope in the coming year of optimism and new beginnings.
A chance for a massive reset and fresh start that didn't happen, for sure the starting of the year was quite relaxing as the cases deteriorated but then monster march came and everything got back to the pavilion,
India ends march with the highest Covid 19 cases/deaths within 24 hours starting with Maharashtra accounted for 140 deaths followed by Punjab and Lucknow.
Recent statistics -
The thing that we did not face earlier is what we are facing now as karma has hit us very badly.
Over the past month, many breathless Covid-19 patients have died due to the unavailability of medical oxygen in hospitals across some states in the country. Contrary to claims, the shortage of oxygen in some states is not due to lower production or FY21 exports.
The second wave of Covid-19 has infected the patients gasping for breath as hospitals in some states continue to face an acute shortage of medical oxygen, due to the unavailability of medical oxygen in hospitals situated in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujrat, and Madhya Pradesh.
Demand for medical oxygen skyrocketed in India soon after Maharashtra started witnessing a sharper of Covid-19 cases since February. The situation worsened as the second Covid wave hit with blistering force in March.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Director-General Balram Bhargava had pointed out earlier that shortness of breath has emerged as a major concern, need for medical oxygen has just doubled during the ongoing second wave.
If India continues to witness a sharp surge in daily Covid-19 cases, the oxygen shortage could be felt by more states.
On Wednesday, India reported nearly 3,33,333 Covid-19 cases and over 2,000 deaths -- both figures are the highest recorded in India since the pandemic began in 2020.
The major problem is that people need to understand that there's no need of getting panic and rushing to the hospital if you're getting a mild fever, according to the doctors about 80% of Covid patients suffer only mild and moderate symptoms and do not need hospitalization just home quarantine yourself. Only 20% of patients having more severe symptoms to do so, and the harsh reality is that they aren't able to get these things.
